FachPack 2018 in Nürnberg, Germany

The plastics experts Seufert and Folienwerk Wolfen will exhibit again at the FachPack in Nuremberg in 2018 and show that plastics can be used sustainably too.

The packaging industry will meet at the Exhibition Center Nuremberg from 25 to 27 September 2018, offering trade visitors insights into the latest innovations and developments in the packaging world. The plastics experts of Seufert Gesellschaft für transparant Verpackungen mbH and Folienwerk Wolfen GmbH are also in a double pack this year. Together they will show at booth 6-426 that plastic can also be sustainable.

Bio meets innovation

Under this motto, the specialists present not only creative packaging solutions and innovative film quality but above all the film material Bio-PET.

The bio-based PET (polyetylene terephthalate) is partly produced from renewable raw materials. Bio-PET films whose MEG content (monoethylene glycol) based on sugar cane is used are used. 30% of the bio-PETs are therefore of plant origin, so that resources are spared. At the same time, Bio-PET can be processed into clear folding boxes, transparent envelopes and blanks just like standard PET.

The advantages are obvious. Thanks to a resource-saving packaging material, less fossil raw materials are used. This topic is currently given great importance by consumers and offers possibilities for differentiation. Brand manufacturers can focus on Bio-PET and draw attention to themselves and their product.

Sustainability policy plays a major role in the two companies. In addition to the Bio-PET, Seufert as well as the Folienwerk are working on a continuous optimization of the film and packaging solutions for a lower use of the valuable raw materials. But also the supply of production waste of the used PET material to the cycle of PET production plays an important role in both.
