PRESS: Seufert makes itself transparent: Our CO2 footprint

According to a study by the Federal Environment Agency, global emissions of carbon dioxide increased continuously and reached a value of around 37.1 billion tons in 2021. Climate change is one of the greatest challenges of our time and Seufert wants to be part of the solution.

On our way to permanently dealing with the topic of sustainability and to work on our personal behavior, we, the employees and management of Seufert, had our CO2 footprint calculated.

Seufert creates transparency!

On the basis of the standards of the `Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol, natureOffice GmbH calculated the CO2 balance for Seufert Gesellschaft für transparente Verpackungen mbH.

The emissions for the 2022 balance sheet year totaled 9,159.12 tons of CO2e and were divided into Scope 1 with 1.67%, Scope 2 with 2.83% and Scope 3 with 95.51%.

Seufert makes itself transparent for everyone and makes the CO2 footprint report available on its website. With company-wide climate protection measures, Seufert avoids CO2 emissions, conserves resources and uses energy more efficiently today.

The photovoltaic system on the Seufert roof has been supplying part of the electricity for the production hall for many years. Production waste is also not simply disposed of, but fed back into the company's own circular economy and recycled. In this way, Seufert can offer its customers resource-saving, recycled PET materials for their products.

With a recycling credit taken into account, the Seufert CO2e is only 8,867.41 tons of CO2e. Seufert is already well below the German average, which is around 11 tons.

It's 5 to 12, Seufert is acting.

Seufert is not resting, our goal is clearly to take big steps towards climate neutrality. A large lever for this has already been set in motion. Work on a major corporate renovation began in 2023 and the company building will receive new thermal insulation. Unnecessary heat losses will soon be a thing of the past.

Business trips also have a major impact on the balance sheet. Here, Seufert reduces his travel to a minimum and already holds many meetings online. Seufert remains transparent and continues towards climate neutrality.
