PRESS RELEASE: 25 years Seufert Society for transparent packaging mbH

The Rodgau-based company is celebrating itself this month (March) and looking back on 25 successful years. On March 1st, 1997, 12 dedicated employees, led by Günther Burkardt, bought Seufert Verpackungen GmbH, which had gone bankrupt nine months previously.

When it was launched under a new name and under new management, no great future was predicted for this company. “But all of our 12 employees took a risk and opened their personal money box! And above all, we stuck together as ironclad!” Günther Burkardt, the managing director at the time, likes to remember the beginnings with 50 employees, as well as with outdated machinery and a major investor from France.

A lot has happened since then. Today, the company employs more than 90 people and, with modern machinery, is one of the European market leaders for sales packaging in the plastics sector. You are proud of your own value chain. The development departments, the offset and screen printing shop, the various punching departments and the gluing shop are all under one roof. The core product "transparent boxes" with which Seufert had made an international name for itself is "Made in Germany". The French investor was parted from in 2011 in the interests of a new strategic orientation. The generation change has also already been carried out in the key functions in a future-oriented manner. The plastic packaging specialist from Rodgau has been successfully managed by Thiemo Burkardt and Thomas Pfaff for 15 years.

Sales have quadrupled over the past 25 years and today they are one of the top addresses among branded companies in all sectors when it comes to transparent, sales-promoting packaging solutions at the POS.

As a driver of innovation in this area, we are also trying to make progress when it comes to sustainability. The plastic material ECO-R-PET has been developed with the companion company in Wolfen, which consists of 100% collected recyclable materials (like the German “yellow bag”) or waste from retail vending machines.

An important contribution to the circular economy, as well as an important step for another 25 successful years by Seufert.
